Why Pilates?
Pilates, developed by Joseph Pilates, is a unique non-aerobic form of exercise which, through slow, controlled movements, builds a corset of strength and works to stretch, strengthen and lengthen muscles - the overall effect being a more balanced, toned and flexible physical appearance. It is suitable for all age groups, men and women alike, and throughout and after pregnancy.
Originally, the technique was predominately used by dancers and other fitness related professions. However, the benefits being recognised more widely means that it has evolved into a postural exercise for everyone, helping with stress related conditions as well as challenging those who already have a good level of fitness.

About me
I am a Pilates & dance instructor based in Teddington & Hampton, Middlesex. I first learnt Pilates in 1996 when I was dancing In Hamburg, Germany and found the technique incredibly helpful to my on-going career as a professional dancer. I finally discovered the benefits of “core stability” and its effects on reducing the niggling back pain I’d endured throughout my dancing career. I trained with both The Pilates Institute and The Pilates Foundation on my return to the UK and have been an advocate ever since.
I am a fully qualified and registered member of The Pilates Foundation and The Royal Academy of Dance and have fully comprehensive insurance with Harrison Beaumont Ltd and 18 years of teaching experience with all age groups.
Dance
I am fully qualified in teaching ballet to an advanced level (ARAD; LRAD; AISTD). I have taught at various ballet schools in London, company class for 'Phantom Of The Opera' in Hamburg, and also for ROH2's productions of 'Wind in the Willows' and 'Pinocchio'.
